The ongoing series, TRASH: anycoloryoulike, began transforming trash in Harlem on June 13. Through the participation of local residents, artist Adrian Kondratowicz is continually replacing standard piles of trash throughout New York with a vivid new design that beautifies the city and calls attention to waste consumption.
Individuals can contribute by commissioning a city block installation, sponsoring a public school or creating their own TRASH sculpture by visiting www.anycoloryoulike.biz.
The viral installation has also been documented in the Lower East Side, Soho and the West Village.
TRASH: anycoloryoulike will continue citywide through the fall of 2008.
