A repetitive theme here at D.U.S. and one I've been interested in my whole life is the interaction/bond/connection- whatever, that we have with nature.  Whether its how it effects us, or we effect it, or if we are just one element of nature, the elemental forces that construct and deconstruct built environments is of great fascination.

Hell Abandoned

From these images I think of an abandoned hell, a place of unfathomed heat and torture once existed and through some cause, perhaps a celestial process of eminent domain, whatever existence occupied the space was removed.

Fitting in the "Program"

{Image: "Howon Dong" photos by Hosang Park, from his series A Square}BLDGBLOG recently showed us photographer Hosang Park's A Square, which depicts small urban landscapes photographed from above, which Park suggests, noting a graphic aesthetic, is the way in which they were designed, perhaps in a vacuum, only from above.  The images inhabit not a single person, theorizing a lack of success due to a design which neglected the true role of a park and an understanding of the human experience and scale.
